At YL, we have a range of unique offers for activating youth leadership

This response is all our dreams come true, – but how often does anyone experience such feedback?!

We do. It is the typical response to workshops given by our YL Citizen Volunteers, who are themselves complete newcomers to youth leadership and education.

This means that everybody can activate youth, now, and that’s been our goal when designing our materials and methods.

Why do we succeed?

Our unique approach helps overcome the awkward, disappointing, and self-destructive shortcomings of common attempts to inspire and empower youth for relevant, self-organized action for people and planet.

All of you can imagine the following experience, and teachers in particular suffer from the suboptimal experience – because they cannot properly provide to their students (now they can).

To understand our approach, first become aware of the frustrating factors of failure that almost everybody so far failed to grasp or overcome. Once you are aware, you are set to WIN!

Great to see you inspired, but we have to go back to subject XYZ teaching now

This is the ultimate worst to do! The teacher claiming that all this was so important thereby states it is not important enough to act. This is the worst possible role model, and it has effect! When students dare to open their tender hearts to suffering in the world and their own fears and love in the lame, superficial, cool or even toxic class setting, it must be responded to, or students’s heart roses’ petals are crushed and will not open again for fear of being disappointed anyway.

Like with sport or music, teachers need an “outer school expert partner” (like a club) where fired up students can learn and practice more, and / or jam and self-organize and learn informally like on basketball courts, and like skateboarders and youtubers do. We provide this outer school partner status and self-coaching community!

Role models are limited to one cause (climate, water, Orang Utans ...)

and therefore resonate only with a few students in class, while the others are not on fire. We provide many hero*ines, with favorite causes and activities for everybody, from fundraising, farming and campaigning to teaching kids, 3D printing, producing films and music.

Students wish to help, but don't know how

because an issue is presented without hero*ine role model, or the hero*ine is only an advocate without tangible solutions, without concrete result on lives, laws, industries and learning culture. Our action guides with 4+ actions per hero*ine, offer 100 action in the first line-up. 300 more follow.

Students act, but don't feel impact

for lack of bold vision and big milestones, fun sense of adventure, tricks to generate presence at school, in public and media. Our resources provide all of that. Plus, we provide a bundle of popular High Impact Starter Actions to start with flying banners. Also, we help / publish their activities in YL social media, magazine, their local news media, schools’ and parents’ newsletters.

Students (and teachers) feel alone

for lack of global changemaker community. We support formation of a Changemaker Student Club, methods to grow quickly, and global community to plan and grow bigger and bolder by the day. We also provide badges, projects curriculum, SDG challenge and trophies to align activities with learning culture and the local community.

Student inspiration dies down

for lack of exciting “what’s next?” activities to involve their 100s of student peers at school/s, collaborate with teachers, activate adults and allies. We provide 400+ actions and strong common sense strategies to sustain year-round fireworks of action, run a vibrant club HQ, learnscape, magazine, radio, set up outposts in public libraries, meet hero*ines live, organize and join summer camps … for their next 70 years

You don’t need to be an “expert” to understand that. We’ve all been to school, we’ve all pondered getting active. We’re all experts on it. This is the key to success.

IN OUR “LEVEL UP” CRASH COURSE, all the exciting, empowering aspects that make things awesome as young people love them to be are present from session #1.

There’s a few more things to it. The most important is our SPIRIT. We really, really care to take solutions to planetary scale. We really, really want to give back to our hero*ines. We really, really want to evoke big changes fast and really, really change civilization to the new awesome collaborative society that we all love better. and we really, really wish that you, en masse, make the same blissful experience, have the time of your lives for years ahead, and evoke impact beyond y/our wildest dreams.

Because the solutions exist. All we need is to passionately wield them, en masse!

Frankly, there’s not that many of our kind out there. That’s why youth, teachers, our volunteers, hero*ine friends and funding partners love working with us!
